Otogi no Uta is a multimedia project created as a collaboration between San-X and Nippon Columbia. It's a fairy-tale based franchise and it's media spans music, drama CDs and a manga. The story of Otogi no Uta is told through its short stories with images, drama tracks and manga. In the story, various fairytale characters are offered the oppertunity to gain one wish if they can win a music-based battle royale. Each character has a different motivation for entering the tournament, with different ideas on what would make a good "ending".

Baron Diesbach is a character in the series who is based on Bluebeard and often called Bluebeard.
The news of the battle fluttered in on a boring day, filling his head with the image of a world filled with ideal beauty. With excitement in his heart, followed by his butler, René, he went to go write his music, for the goddesses, with love.

His story is mostly accurate, except that they added a butler character named René Junker who plays the violin and for an inplicable reason they made the character German and he often drops German words into his speech.
Du bist schön! (You are beautiful!)
I'm sure I will captivate you.
‘‘My hope is to fill this world with beauty. Let us spin a song with love for the beautiful goddesses! The brilliant blue melodies will flow into your ears with the finest symphonic rock.’’

Mutes are small, cute, depictions of the characters in animal form in the style of San-X. My theory is that Otogi no Uta was planned to be a mobile rhythm type game where the characters could be "muted" if either the opponent or the player were unsuccessful.
The one who loves only things that are beautiful.

"If you win this battle, you can have an ideal world."
His motivation in life is to collect beautiful things, specifically beautiful women and his motivation for joining the tournament is to create a perfect world full of only beauty. This is definatly an interesting spin on the orginal Bluebeard story that doesn't contradict the text and gives some potential insight into the reasons for his actions (even if, I don't agree with the final analysis of the tale).

He is called a gentleman and is a self-proclaimed feminist. He adores beautiful things, beautiful songs, and especially beautiful women, who he sings for and worships like goddesses. When not around his goddesses, he is a strange and silent person, treating others as if they're merely furniture. Truffles are his favorite kind of chocolate (as well as chocolate bars!) and loves tea.
